What is the Waste Report?

As an admin, you have the option to create a waste report and download it for further analysis. This guide explains what the waste report is, what information it provides, and the actions you can take.

What is the Waste Report?

The waste report shows waste quantities by material and pickup point. It allows you to answer various questions by correctly filtering and grouping the data. Once the report is created, it can be downloaded directly to your device in Excel format for further analysis.

How are the quantities in the waste report calculated?

The waste report is based on the data stored in the software. These data are either automatically reported by the waste disposal service providers or manually entered by admin users. All quantities recorded for an order and classified as materials are summed up.

  • Different billing units (e.g., tons, containers) are added separately.
  • Quantities are primarily taken from the feedback (see Order Management > Details > Quantities & Weights).
  • Billing data can overwrite the reported values if there are discrepancies.
  • In calculations, weights are consolidated (tons and kilograms combined).

What information can be viewed, and what actions can be performed?

The analysis view is divided into three tabs:

  1. Overview
  2. Annual Overview
  3. Separate Collection Rate

1. Overview

The "Overview" tab displays an interactive table with various information and actions. The table includes the following default data columns:

  • Location
  • Pickup Point
  • Material
  • AVV
  • Material Category
  • Waste Disposal Service Provider
  • Quantity
  • Number of Orders

Additional columns can be added manually via the column menu. Learn how to do this here.

To sort the table by a specific column, simply click on the column header.

To download the table as an Excel file directly to your device, click the download button above the table.

💡 Note: The file is not saved in Administration > Excel Export.

By effectively using the filter options and grouping data within the interactive table, you can answer a variety of questions based on the data. Learn how to work with interactive tables here.

2. Annual Overview

The "Annual Overview" tab displays a report showing the development of waste quantities by material and year.

💡 Note: Only reported tonnages for a material are displayed. Other units like liters or the number of containers are ignored.

The report is presented as both a graph and a table, which can be downloaded as an Excel file. Click the download button above the table.
Note: The file is not saved in Administration > Excel Export.

The report can be filtered by:

  • Year
  • Location (one or multiple locations selectable)
  • Material (one or multiple material types selectable)

💡 Note: The colours used to represent different material fractions can be adjusted in Administration > Waste Types.

3. Separate Collection Rate

The "Separate Collection Rate" tab displays a graph showing the separate collection rate of commercial municipal waste in the company. This rate indicates the percentage of commercial municipal waste collected separately by mass.
You can read how the separate collection rate is calculated here.

The graph shows the mass of separately collected commercial municipal waste, also the mass of non-separately collected commercial municipal waste. Both the weight and the percentage of each. The percentage of orders included in the calculation.

Orders with missing tonnage information or those not yet in the "Reviewed" status are excluded from the calculation.

Filters available for this report include:

  • Time Period
  • Location (one or multiple locations selectable)

💡 Note: The analysis of the separate collection rate can only be viewed within the software and cannot be exported or downloaded.
